This week , Year 1s have been experiencing the fun and excitement of Bhangra Music. After hearing the famous song Jai Ho, we learnt how to play the notes ‘c’ and ‘g’ on the glockenspiels in time and to the beat. We also chose some children to become the percussion section to accompany our melody on the glockenspiel.
They did a great job of creating beats in time to the pulse of the song, playing on the drum, shakers and the wood blocks. The result was a brilliant combination of pitch and rhythm, excellent team work and new experience for our budding musicians!
