Design & Technology

In our DT project, the children designed their Easter cards, carefully planning which parts would move. They then created the front of their cards, making sure their designs were clear and ready for the next step. Finally, they added the levers and moving parts, bringing their designs to life with creativity and skill.
Science
Our science topic Forces and Magnets has sparked lots of curiosity and hands-on learning. The children have been exploring how objects move on different surfaces, investigating the effects of friction, and discovering the fascinating world of magnets.

Magnetic and non-magnetic
We investigated a range of materials to find out which classroom objects were magnetic. We predicted and then observed which classroom objects were magnetic. Then we wrote up our results to a Carroll diagram, showing which objects were magnetic and which were made of metal.

Magnetic Pull
We investigated how powerful 5 different magnets were. We set up our experiment as outlined in the Mission Assignment. First, we predicted which magnet is the strongest and which is the weakest. Then measured the distance at which each magnet attracted a paperclip, recording our results in a table. Finally, we placed the magnets in order of strength.
Computing
We have been developing our understanding of what a branching database is and how to create one. We used yes/no questions to sort groups of objects and created a physical and on-screen branching databases. We also considered real-world applications for branching databases.

R.E
In RE, we have been exploring the big question “What kind of world does God want?” as well as the theme of Salvation through the Easter story. The children have enjoyed thoughtful discussions and meaningful reflections, making links between biblical teachings and how they can make a positive difference in the world today.

Beatitudes
Working in small groups, with each group focused on one of the Beatitudes. Together, we discussed its meaning and thought about how it can be applied in everyday life. Using ours ideas, we created a short role play to bring the Beatitude to life. Each group performed their skit for the class, helping everyone to deepen their understanding in a fun and interactive way.

Plant a Flower
We were fortunate to have some wonderful parents join us to help plant flowers and plants. Everyone was excited to take part, and we can’t wait to see how our chosen flowers will bloom by summer!
