This term we have been learning about all about The Great Fire of London but we wanted to know more! Somehow, we managed to convince Miss Williams to take us on a fantastic trip to expand our knowledge and that’s how this journey begins!

First we travelled all the way to the Tower of London from school. We walked, took an overground train, took a DLR and walked some more before we reached our destination.

For a lot of us, this was our first time seeing a real tower and we couldn’t believe our eyes!

As you now know, we have been learning all about the Great Fire and our good friend here helped us learn more!

We even saw a picture of Samuel Pepys! If you didn’t know, he kept a very important diary with all of the events about the Great Fire that took place in 1666.

After learning more about the Great Fire we were absolutely starving, so we had lunch inside the castle.

Now, you might be thinking that we were done, but we were still excited to discover more so we explored more of the Tower of London and we even stopped to look at the crown jewels!

Here are some houses which show how close they were built in 1666. It’s also one of the reasons the fire spread so quickly!

We had a great time we would definitely visit again!

We just heard Miss Williams talking to Miss Vander outside the classroom so we have to run now but we’ll catch you next time!
