This half term we we learning about a fantastic artist named Marc Quinn. The intriguing works of Marc Quinn include: Arctic Nervous Breakdown (1998), Eternal Spring (Sunflower) and many many more! What we want to discuss is a particular artwork that inspired us to pair our creativity with our baking skills…Bread Hands. We applied the skills needed to sculpt our own bread artwork. Our finished products resembled bears, hedgehogs, flowers and more!

We had questions and we wanted answers! The answers to these questions we discovered as we embarked on our bread sculpting journey. Our next step entailed, designing what our sculptures would look like:

Whew! It was hard work mixing and kneading our dough but here are the results of our sculpting:











Luckily for us, we had an amazing adult to help us use the oven! So our next step was baking our dough:



Now all that’s left for us to do is…show you our finished sculptures!
