Odd socks challenge

At St Michael’s we are raising awareness for anti- bullying week. This takes place from Monday 11th to Friday 15th November. The theme this year is ‘Choose Respect’. With respect being our one school rule, we are already aware of what it means, however, it is always good to explore how we show and demonstrate respect.

We show respect at St Michael’s by taking responsibility, trying to make right choices and showing kindness to others. This fits perfectly with the anti-bullying week theme.

We spoke as a school about what respect means, and even used a thinking question to help us.

The children came up with some great ideas to discuss this question. We then talked about the definition of bullying .

To make our stand and show our support, we wore odd socks on Tuesday- to show that every child is unique – being different is what we all share in common – another key statement in St Michael’s repertoire.

Reception class have even provided help if we didn’t wear odd socks; they designed some!

In a world where we can be anything – make a choice to be kind!

Choose Respect!
