Year 1 have been learning about the Creation story. The creation story begins with the opening chapter of the Bible and these words: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” (NIV) This sentence summarizes the drama that was about to unfold. It teaches that the earth was formless, empty, and dark, and God’s Spirit moved over the waters, preparing to perform God’s creative word. Then began the seven most creative days of all time as God spoke life into existence.
Year 1 have learnt what happened over those magical 7 days and enjoyed telling the story together.
Day 1 – Light and dark
Day 2- The sky
Day 3- The tress, plants and land
Day 4- Sun, moon and stars
Day 5- Birds in the sky and the animals in the sea
Day 6- Humans and land animals
Day 7- God rested
Year 1 also made some very special creations of their own.
