St Michael’s continued to emphasise the importance of staying safe online by promoting Safer Internet Day. Along with many schools in the UK, St Michael’s took the opportunity to advise the whole school community about how we can work together to make the internet a safer place.
Our E-safety Committee, alongside our Pupil Ambassadors and Headies, led the way by leading collective worship to the whole school. This was well received by the children who answered questions well and took the opportunity to share their knowledge.
The theme for Safer Internet Day is ‘Inspiring Change: Making a difference, managing influence, and navigating change online’. The committees opened up the conversation which was then continued in classes with teachers.
The children have relished the opportunity to share their ideas and have combined the theme of ‘Your Voice Matters’ from Children’s Mental Health Week and the ‘Inspiring Change‘ theme for Safer Internet Day to make themselves heard.
