… and at St Michael’s it is DEFINITELY NOT CANCELLED! The excitement is building and there are a few things in the pipeline to make this as enjoyable an experience as we can, within the current restrictions we face.
Christmas Cards
This year children must post all Christmas cards into their class ‘Christmas box’. The boxes will be available from week beginning 30th November 2020. The final date for posting will be Friday 11th December; this is so they can be quarantined. The cards will then be distributed on Tuesday 15th December. Unfortunately, we cannot accept cards for the Christmas post after Friday 11th December; another way in which we are trying to keep all the children and adults safe.
Christmas jumper day and Christmas lunch will be on Thursday 10th December, always a great time of fun.
Have you seen this little one anywhere? I have heard he is on his way to the Infants, so we better watch out!
Christmas Performance
We cannot do a Christmas celebration in our usual way, but we do have a few plans up our sleeve, so watch this space!
In all the preparations, no matter how strange, we want to remind you of the lyrics to a song called ‘Heaven Everywhere’ by Francesca Battistelli that has become somewhat of a Christmas anthem at St Michael’s.
I hear the bells, they’re ringing loud and clear
You can’t help but love this time of year
It’s Christmas time, there’s something in the air
There’s a little bit of heaven everywhere.
Somehow there’s a little more of love
Maybe there’s a little less of us
Or maybe we’re just slightly more aware
There’s a little bit of heaven everywhere.
It’s funny how it takes a holiday
To show us how the world could truly change
If we all took the time to really care
There’d be a little more of heaven everywhere.
It’s the grace that we show to a world that needs hope
It’s giving our lives knowing they’re not our own
It’s the joy that we feel and the love that we share
There’s a little bit of heaven everywhere
There’s a little bit of heaven everywhere.
Keep spreading joy and let the celebrations begin!
