On Tuesday 18th July, St Michael’s gathered for one of the highlights of the Summer term – Sports Day. The children from Reception to Year 6 joined together to take part in a range of activities. There were traditional events such as the egg and spoon race and the sack race to showing teamwork and resilience in the tug of war.
With perfect weather and a lovely supportive crowd, the children as usual demonstrated their sporting prowess as well St Michael’s school values of f resilience, joy, hope, love, trust and peace. Our sports day motto is, ‘Compete with the determination to win, but be gracious if you don’t!’ The children of St Michael’s exemplified this – well done to you all.
We would like to thank all our students and staff for making the day a success. A special thank you to Mr Bailey Wilson our PE coach and to Jason Mensah, a St Michael’s alumni and founder of Ballers Sports Coaching Academy, for supporting us on the day.

The events continued with an exciting parent race (well three actually as there was a false start!) Thank you to all those who came to support, those brave enough to take part in the races and to the supporters cheering them on their way.
AND THERE’S MORE…
Back at school the sports went on and on. The children displayed their agility in gymnastics, skill in football and basketball, a range of throwing techniques as well as rhythm with cheerleading! The energy of the children was matched to their smiling happy faces. This is what sports day is all about!
