Year 4 have added to their knowledge of poetry by learning to write Haiku poems, which have a strict amount of syllables over three lines, the length of a Haiku. The syllable count is five, seven, then five. It was great watching the children counting syllables and working out the most effective adjectives and verbs to use in such a short poem. They worked really hard and produced some wonderful Haikus.
Here a re a few of Y4’s amazing Haiku’s.
