In Year 2 in Science, our topic is ‘Living things and their habitats’. We want the children to learn about a variety of habitats and the plants and animals that live there. We want them to be able to tell the difference between things that are living, dead and things that have never been alive, and apply this in a range of contexts.
Today, the children had the opportunity to develop their scientific skills by making observations of a local habitat and the creatures that live there. Next, the children will be investigating conditions in local microhabitats and how they affect the minibeasts found within them.
