Y5 have enjoyed all aspects of vector drawing. They have gained an understanding of layers and how they are used in vector drawings. They have learnt that each object is built on a new layer and that these layers can be put in the foreground or background. They have learnt how to group objects to make them easier to work with. They now have an understanding of how digital images can be made from shapes or pixels.
The children can
- identify that each added object creates a new layer in the drawing
- identify which objects are in the front layer or in the back layer of a drawing
- change the order of layers in a vector drawing
- copy part of a drawing by duplicating several objects
- group to create a single object
- reuse a group of objects to further develop my vector drawing
- evaluate alternatives to vector drawings
- suggest improvements to a vector drawing
- apply what I have learned about vector drawings
