Today is the culmination of our Bishop’s Lent fundraising appeal, with the children coming to school dressed in an array of purple.
We have been collecting over some time, but knew that today would be the day of the purple bake sale. Mrs Kajubi and her band of helpers have been hard at work since yesterday; measuring preparing and baking. The batch they made were for staff sales and consumption – we had to leave enough for the rest of the school.
The children at St Michael’s take giving in their stride. It was business as normal in lessons just with a different colour hue.
Now the purple bake sale!
We did warn you it was limited stock as it was a themed bake sale – but St Michael’s children do love a slice of Mrs Kajubi’s cake. So we need to get her to stay up baking for five nights next time and not just two to make sure we have enough! Thank you very much Mrs Kajubi. As one child in year 6 said, her cakes are worth it!
The sales staff are ready…
The crowds came…
Let’s go…
We made £102 in cake sales, which will be added to the donations for purple wrist bands and wearing purple today. An update of the final figure will be shared shortly.
Apologies for anyone who did not get to purchase this time, look out for the next cake sale – where we will ask for donations – soon.
Update – the total amount raised by the St Michael’s school community was £265.43
Thank you everyone
