This term, Y5 are looking at ‘Way home’ by Libby Hathorn with amazing illustrations by Gregory Rogers. The class took one of these fantastic illustrations to create List Poems. The national curriculum requires that children are taught to prepare poems and plays to read aloud and to perform, showing their understanding through intonation, tone and volume so that the meaning is clear to an audience.
The NC also requires children to be taught to write legibly, fluently and speedily. Here is a demonstration from Y5 meeting those requirements.
