School will re-open for all pupils on Thursday the 3rd September. We are super excited to welcome back ALL our children for the first time since lockdown. At the end of last term, we sent out a letter with some details regarding the arrangements that we have in place to provide a safe environment for our children, staff and parents. Here are a few of details as reminders…
Start of school day – morning drop off
- Children may be dropped off between 8.40 am – 9.10 am. Parents/responsible adults will not be permitted onto the school grounds during drop-off.
- To avoid crowding, we are asking that parents/responsible adults drop and leave.
- St Michael’s staff will be outside facilitating and policing the area.
- Teachers will be waiting for the children in the classrooms where they will have the opportunity to read until it is time for the register.
- The school gates will shut at 9.10am and the register will be taken. Children arriving after this time will be registered as arriving late.
Children Arriving Late:
If your child is late, you will need to bring your child to the Main Reception (Juniors) or, for the Infant site, buzz at the infant gate and Ms Pendleton will accompany the child to class.
End of school day – Parents/Carers collecting children
• The school gates will open at 3.05pm at infants and 3.20pm at juniors – please maintain social distancing.
• Please pick up and leave in order to avoid crowding and to allow social distancing.
• Please be on time to collect your child, as we want to avoid children waiting in the main office after school.
WRAP AROUND CARE – breakfast & after school club
Breakfast Club will start at 7.45am as normal. Please bring your child/ren to the side entrance of the hall. Please maintain social distancing.
The After School Club will run from 3.15pm to 6pm as normal during the Autumn Term. If possible, only 1 parent/carer to drop off and pick up.
If you would like to book a place for either Breakfast or After School Club, please email the school. Please ensure that fees for Breakfast and After School Club are paid in advance to secure your child’s place in the clubs.
EXTRA CURRICULAR CLUBS (AFTER SCHOOL)
In order to adhere to national guidance, we have decided not to run clubs for the first half term of the Autumn Term. At half term we will reassess the situation – we will do our best to resume clubs as soon as possible.
Also,
- Children are expected to wear school uniform.
- Children are not advised to wear masks.
- Children must bring in their own water bottles as the school fountains are currently not in use (in line with guidance).
- There will be no swimming in the Autumn Term.
- Children’s temperature will be taken upon arrival at school and any child with a temperature will be sent home.
- Please make sure that the school has up-to-date contact details for you and that you keep phones switched on so we can get in touch with you, if necessary.
- If you wish to notify the school of any change in contact details please email the school using the ‘schoolmail’ email address: schoolmail@stmichaels.lewisham.sch.uk
