The final morning at PGL and the Year 6 are ready for it! First things first, a good breakfast in preparation for the tasks ahead.
This morning the children have trapeze and abseiling.
Each stage of the trapeze counts as a success and requires courage and determination. The challenge starts with a climb to the top of a 6-metre pole. Next, a climb onto the small platform which requires balance as the children make that leap for the trapeze! Every step of this task gives a very real sense of personal achievement.
Think about walking backwards off the top of a tower, gradually working back towards ground level, suspended only on a rope. This task is all about trust, courage and confidence. Helmets and harnesses on – let’s go!
Some children deal with heights more easily than others, but with the support and encouragement of the rest of the group, each individual’s success will help strengthen peer relationships.
It’s lunch and then on board the coach for the return journey to school. The Year 6 PGL adventure is over, but there are many more adventures to come in their final year at Primary school.
Well done to all for rising to challenges and overcoming fears – we are all so proud of you.
Goodnight Year 6
