Year 6 are not slowing down and neither is the rain, but it has not dampened the Year 6 spirit!
Today the children are continuing the PGL adventure with Archery and Jacob’s ladder. The archery session is lots of fun as the children explore the skills required to hit the target. It is all about accuracy, control and a steady hand. Jacob’s ladder is an exercise in teamwork and friendly cooperation. In groups of three, the objective is to climb to the top of a suspended ladder of logs.
Check out these determined and focused children! You need a very steady hand and a keen eye! Can you hit the target?
After lunch the activities were tunnel trail and sensory trail. Tunnel trail involves navigating and discovering a series of underground tunnels. The tunnels vary in size and they have various tasks to carry out during their exploration. To conquer the tunnel requires self-confidence, problem-solving skills and teamwork.
Sensory trail is quite frankly hilarious! It is a task which has the children working together to negotiate a series of obstacles – blindfolded – with other members of their group for guidance. As fun as it is, it is a fantastic task to promote mutual trust, self-belief and effective communication to complete the course successfully.
Before they got going on the tasks, they had an extra visitor to the group.
Navigatining tunnels looks like a lot of fun.
Have you tried moving around blindfolded, in the woods – with someone tickling your nose with a leaf? Hilarious!
Dinner, then get ready for the disco!
We are danced out, so time for bed – but always with the group having a time of reflection and prayer.
The final night in PGL for Year 6. They need a good night’s sleep as tomorrow will bring their final challenges in Marchants Hill.
Good night Year 6.
