The time has come and the children are on their way to Marchants Hill. Bags are packed and parents waved them off. The rain did not stop the smiles, the children (and parents) were very excited that the day has arrived.
They have arrived safely and the first order of the day was lunch. For some reason, travelling makes children very hungry!
After retrieving their luggage and finding their rooms, it was time to explore.
The children have met Josh, their group leader for the week. Later today they have camp fire activities. We will keep you updated.
Let the fun begin!
Dinnertime! Menu options this evening were: piri piri chicken, tuna pasta bake or plant based chicken schnitzel, there was also an ample salad bar selection. But hold on – blueberry muffins or fresh fruit for dessert – they are spoiled for choice!
After a lovely meal it was the evening activity – campfire. But not just any campfire – a campfire of St Michael’s children singing silly songs! Come on everyone – sing along!
The adults are ready to sing…
The children are seated – let’s sing…
…and eat marshmallows.
A further update before the children go to bed will be posted here!
Showered and ready for bed. The children end the day with a time of reflection – sharing their thoughts on the best parts of the day – and prayer.
Look at their faces, they look nowhere near ready to sleep, but sleep they must to be ready for the fun of day two.
Goodnight Year 6! Best of luck getting them to sleep teachers.
