Today we were so pleased to hold our Buddy service in St Michael’s and All Angels church with parents, carers and family of the new Reception class attending.
At St Michael’s, we are a small church school where we value caring for each other. As it is a split site school, we make every effort for younger children to learn from older children and develop relationships with children who are good role models. Therefore we have a buddy system where Reception children have a Year 6 buddy for a year.
As a token of welcome, the Year 6 children presented their buddy with a story book to keep.
During our buddy service, Deacon David shared a little about bananas! As strange as that may seem, a hand of bananas was used as an analogy and reflective of being a buddy. Whether we work as a big bunch or in twos, we grow together.
Please see some images from Buddy time held this term.
I am sure the children will continue to have an amazing time with their buddies, growing and developing friendships which will last.
Let the buddy fun continue!
