PSHE in Year 6 focused on what it means to be hopeful. The lesson was based on Black Lives Matter in the wake of George Floyd’s death. They discussed a future that is not based on the colour of someone’s skin but the content of their character. The aim was for the children to understand the difference between equality and justice.
The children wrote on a leaf using #Iamhopefulfor; these leaves were then attached to a tree in school.
Leaves attached to trees with the #Iamhopefulfor will stand as a symbol of diversity in our society. May we always be hopeful.
