Friends of St Michael’s
The Friends of St Michael’s play a significant role in the
life of the school. All parents are automatically members of
the ‘Friends’ whose main aim is to support the learning
within the school by fund raising. Money raised is donated to the school to purchase equipment it may not otherwise be able to acquire.
Over the years, the Friends have raised money to purchase a variety of items including computers, noticeboards, cameras, books and classroom rugs to name a few. More recently, Friends
purchased Youth Bibles for the Year 6 leavers and sponsored
(in part) the Year 5 school trip. Friends donated an impressive £3,500 towards the Green Games area in the Junior playground.
The activities of the Friends are organised by a committee elected at the annual meeting. The 2016/17 committee is:
Committee meetings are held regularly and are open to anyone who wishes to attend. They are informal and are usually held on the school premises (activities and games are available for children when held after school). Dates of meetings and venues are displayed on the school notice boards and emailed to parents.
The Friends are members of the National Parent Teacher
Association and have adopted a standard form of
constitution; a copy of which can be seen by clicking here.
Minutes of all meetings are available upon request. Please contact the Friends using the email address below
